Gone too soon

The skies were grey and teary this morning; in absolute contrast to the day before as if to join us in mourning for a great lost - Yasmin Ahmad; an inspiration to many Malaysians in the art & film industry who has relentlessly spread love, joy and hope to bring our countries shattering racial unity together. Over breakfast yesterday, i noticed a loving family sitting beside me; indian father, chinese mother and their little toddler whom many would label him as 'chindian', but he is infact a true blooded Malaysian of no ethnic divides. I know for a fact that such awareness would have slipped past my consciousness if it weren't for Yasmin's messages and lessons in all her work - Love, acceptance and forgiveness without descrimination.

Dearest Kak Yasmin, your passing will be greatly missed and we will wonder why you are taken away so soon. Rest well, rest in peace and wherever you are, thank you for everything.

Yasmin Ahmad (July 1, 1958 - July 25, 2009)

Like A Comet
Blazing 'Cross The Evening Sky
Gone Too Soon

Like A Rainbow
Fading In The Twinkling Of An Eye
Gone Too Soon

Shiny And Sparkly
And Splendidly Bright
Here One Day
Gone One Night

Like The Loss Of Sunlight
On A Cloudy Afternoon
Gone Too Soon

Like A Castle
Built Upon A Sandy Beach
Gone Too Soon

Like A Perfect Flower
That Is Just Beyond Your Reach
Gone Too Soon

Born To Amuse, To Inspire, To Delight
Here One Day
Gone One Night

Like A Sunset
Dying With The Rising Of The Moon
Gone Too Soon

Can i Pray for you?

You sure can Mr.Mantis - Thank you! :)

Today's Direction

Success Can Lead to Failure

You can learn a lot by looking at the mistakes of others. The Bible never glosses over anything. It shows you the good, bad, and ugly in people. It particularly shows you how people did things... the right way as well as the wrong way.

King Uzziah was an extraordinarily successful king. He was smart and popular. He ruled well. His kingdom was industrious and powerful both commercially and militarily. He was so successful, it went to his head. Where did he go wrong? He thought he could do whatever he wanted even if it went against what God ordained.

"But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall"(2 Chron. 26:16NIV).

Obviously pride marked Uzziah's downfall, but notice that he became prideful only after he became powerful. Be wise. Success can lead to failure. The Father wants you to succeed, but when He blesses you with success, remain in a position of humility. Satan will tempt you to exalt yourself. Pride leads you to break your faith in God.

Before it's too late, swallow your pride. It won't choke you and neither will it make you fat! The best remedy for pride is two bent knees.

"God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time" (1 Peter 5:5-6NIV).

It's July, What's New

Not much. It's only been 2 weeks and i find myself ranting away to the entire planet about how broke i am this month. Wait a minute, i've always been broke, but i am extra broke this month because my wheels just turned 1 and the roadtax and car insurance bills are whispering to me during my sleep. Total nightmare.

At times like this i could only wish for a financial miracle of some sort. You see, i've been so desperate that i am actually trying my luck with a radio contest in attempt to win some cold hard cash. No kidding... am truly hopeful.

But hubba being the skeptic as always said there's really no such thing. He thinks the winners are probably orang dalam. I told him i'm gonna prove him wrong. For almost a month now, i'm still trying to prove him wrong despite the fact that i was usually ".." this close of getting through the phone line or nobody picks up my call! *sigh* i'm sure everyone who's trying to call in claims to know the answer and so do i... Infact i am about

90% certain!

because NO ONE has mentioned the name i'm guessing. So i shall remain hopeful and wake up deligently in the morning to try my luck! JD & Dilly... please lemme thruuuuu.... sobs....

Upside on the Downside with and Upside (repeat)

No, this is not Japan...

This is the recent view from that murderous jammed up road along Jalan Tropicana Utara i would drive through almost everyday. Usually only a few trees would occasionally blossom from shades of dark pink to white, but this time around almost all the trees are blossoming at the same time - without leaves?! (probably due to the super duper heat wave)

Who would expect an ever so depressing weather could have an UPSIDE. *enjoying the view*
