Let's get creative!

*i'm inspired already*

*Just a thought*

I strongly believe that if we all come together to love art, we will love life. And when we love life, we have less rage and more respect for everything and everyone else for that matter. We will learn that everything in this world exists to co-exist and it's a really awfully small world to ruin it.

Thanks ManMeng!

I participated in a little lucky draw contest at ManMeng's blog and i got this; a little electronic potpourri! Don't we all love freebies! Just one tiny little problem though...

the jasmine scent kinda makes me feel like i'm in india now... >_<"

It's Battle of the Billboards

Alright, this may seem like SO-yesterday news to some of you but in case you've been living somewhere FARRRR away from PJ and doesn't believe in reading the newspaper or have any friends to bitch with you, you might find this intriguing.

Last Thursday on Valentines Day, some guy decides to propose to his lover. "So what" you might ask. But check a load of this...

Yeap, a billboard proposal.
('Try beat this!', the dude says)

Surely this billboard sent many unmarried nervous boyfriends explaining to their envious girlfriends about how impractical and apparently 'dangerous' this very public proposal can be! Girlfriends whines about how 'lucky' Kelly is and stomps feet at their poor boyfriends for being so 'cliche' and *ahem* cheap. It's understandable why some guys wanna punch this poor little rich kid. He did kinda spoil the market for them or so they say...

"Now everyone knows you're freggin' loaded for paying RM40k for the billboard and RM14k for the ring! Kidnappers are gonna get you!" many sour plums blitched (blog+bitch)

Oh well... funny how many tails one can step on for being romantic and rich. I guess we all get bashing irregardless of our intentions right? Can't please everyone, but then again who's business is it anyway?! If you really don't like it, try do something about it! Like this dude here...

This politic dude is so loaded that his face is pretty much all i see the past 2 weeks along LDP. But he claims to only have spent RM15k on ALL the billboards *cough*liar*cough* I may not be political savvy and all, but hey... if you have done something noble for the neighborhood, i'm sure we'll all vote for you on the 8th of March (that's if you are even contesting - and apparent NOT!)

So 2 days later... Somebody took matters to their own hands.

Okay, who ever who did this, it helps to write some synopsis too, cause i don't quite get this piece of abstract art. And for some reason i feel like i'm living in the 3rd world country - for real!

That Stinky Pleasure

While some may find pleasure in sniffing at other's stinky shoes...

the person with the stinky feet might not like being sniffed at.

Alright, i will get to my point. I don't believe i have ever been so overdosed with 'stinky shoe sniffers' until lately. To some people, their idea of conversation during family or friends reunions would be the perfect timing to air their dirty laundry. I HATE being caught amongst 'concerned' family members bitching about another's affair; like who just got divorced, who's in the wrong, who hasn't got a child, maybe she/he is infertile so on and so forth bitches.

I believe at some point, my facial and bodily expressions shows my disinterest in the so called chat and this elderly relative asked me to excuse them for being so 'bosy' and laughs.

me: *rolleyes* & forces out a smile.

Message to stinky shoes sniffers: Sniff your own shoes first before you sniff at others, you will be surprise to find that your own shoes probably smells the worst!

Having missed last year's New Year's eve dinner with my family, i found myself cherishing every moment of this year's dinner. Loved every moment of it!

Talk about big time 'shiok sendiri' (self-pleasure). I cannot seem to STOP playing with this free application since the day i discovered it!

It feels as good as window shopping 'cept it helps to save you more moolah's since you can't spring into impulsive or compulsive buying! I have that disorder and it's pretty baaadddd...

*Drum roll*

Where i work, there's a mega shopping mall just across the road. They have just expanded the mall and you can find practically any brands there. So i'm pretty much doomed every month or whenever i'm feeling stressed because i always end up at places i shouldn't be (too often). Anyways, my excuse this time; I'm feeling rather festive, moreover i have a nose that can sniff out good buys and beautiful things. I instinctively walk right past the supermarket and right inside a shoe shop. I ended up with this:

I don't need the boxes, thank you!

Yes, they are on sales and the total damage including 2 pairs of earrings which are not featured here... RM199! I think it's pretty alright since my Zara heels alone already costs RM129. Though i cannot answer the question as to why i need 3 pairs of shoes or as a matter of fact SO MANY pairs at one time, i can however tell you that i feel damn good about it and that i'll be ubber happy 24/7! *grin*

Just my story

Happy Chinese New Year!

I bought this beautiful paper cut art from Beijing 2 years ago from a 80+ year old chinese lady who speaks russian. I stood there for the longest time admiring her patience and passion while cutting through the thin red paper with a very small foldable metal scissors. I chat her up with my almost there mandarin, and she shared so many wonderful stories with me about her past and that she picked this up from her mother when she was only 3 years old. She said there were tears and tantrum upon picking up this art and her hands would be sore and swollen from the constant cutting and folding.

"Pain fades over time and patience grows with time, that's how my mother advised and comforted me when i was picking up this art", she says.

The way she speaks and the words she uses is often followed with beautiful chinese quotes and sayings. I swore silently for not being as chinese literate as i should be. At one point she looks into my eyes and stood there silent as if to analyse me.

"You must be from a artistic background. Only artistic people would admire the smaller details in things. Am i right?"

I smiled and nodded. She then held my hand and says, "It's a gift. Not everyone can and have the patience to take details into consideration. Many people don't know it, but loving art is loving life. It makes everything more beautiful and meaningful. It makes you look at things differently and it teaches you the way to life. So remember, be patient and persevere through whatever hardship or difficult moments in life because the results will always be fruitful."

My brief moment with this old lady made a mark in my life forever. And i found myself thinking of her this coming Chinese New Year when i took out all the beautiful paper cut art i bought from her. Before we bid one another farewell, she swiftly whipped up a pair of twin monkeys as a 'destined gift' and wished me the best in life.

The most beautiful rainbow

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

Live simply. Love generously.
Care deeply. Speak kindly.

P/S: Thanks Aemy for sharing this with me.

I Need to Know...

How many pair of Black Shoes do you have?

It suddenly occurred to me that i don't have enough of them... yes still not enough. I counted and i have 10 pair of black shoes ranging from different heels and cut. And just to shortlist the ones i really wear and love wearing; 5 pairs, mostly to pair off with jeans and smart casual outfits. And only ONE fabulous black dress shoes :( *pathetic*

I know i need more pairs of fab black shoes, mid heels for skirts, covered shoes which doesn't give me blisters on formal occasions or when i go get my car, smart and sharp ones doesn't spell boring, strappy ones that doesn't shorten my legs (somemore), embellished ones that possesses me to strut like a diva and the list goes on!

Then again, it's not like i have ton's of black dresses to go with loads of shoes, but probably enough to get me by mundane formal functions. I just realized that Black dresses can come in so handily for last minute occasions and "I LOOK FAT" days. My black dresses has not failed me by far and best part, it's also the only number i wear & wore without people recognizing the repetition! God bless accessories!

Meanwhile i will keep wishing!
